If he wears this mask when he confronts Igos, the startled undead king briefly mistakes him for the head of his army, but quickly sees through the disguise. Elsewhere in the quest, Link can obtain a mask made in the image of Captain Keeta, who was in life the leader of the army of Ikana, which he uses to give orders to the undead soldiers (Stalchildren) still wandering the land of Ikana.Apart from reforming unless permanently destroyed with light, King Igos and his men fight almost exactly like the Stalfos warriors from Ocarina of Time, which is likely not a coincidence, given their skeletal nature.As thanks to Link for freeing him from his eternal suffering, King Igos teaches the young hero the ocarina song known as the Elegy of Emptiness, which would be vital in the hero's attempts to conquer Stone Tower Temple, which would be the only way to truly return light to the dark land of Ikana.

The only way Link can really defeat them is to break the curse of darkness, which he naturally does with light. The dark curse is still intact all these years later, so that even if a warrior did manage to strike down Igos or either of his servants, their skeletons merely move back into proper position and begin the battle anew. Igos du Ikana, and his two bodyguards, formerly the best swordsmen in Ikana, serve as the boss fight for the Ancient Castle of Ikana in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It is also known that its last leader was King Igos du Ikana, who still sits upon his throne in the Ancient Castle of Ikana, ruling over what is left of his people. As a result, the spirits of its people still wander the halls of the many ruins that dot Ikana Canyon, trapped forever, rendering it the most haunted place in Termina. If you try to enter Ikana without a mask on, the guy says: So Iron Knuckles were probably the Elite of Ikana's army, bodyguards, or the Royal Army. The Ikana Graveyard has Iron Knuckles in it, and it was stated that the Graveyard was all members of the Royal Family of Ikana. The Ikanans and Gibdo were probably at war too, because Gibdos still attack Link even if he wears the Captain's Hat. The odd thing about that is, the Captain's Hat belonged to an Ikanan (Captain Keeta) and, as mentioned before, the Ikanans and Garo were enemies. ReDeads dance whenever the Garo Mask, Captain's Hat or Gibdo Mask are worn. If shot with Fire Arrows, they burn up into ReDeads. The well is the hiding place of Gibdos, mummified men who were cursed while searching for a treasure (the mirror shield). It is unknown if they did this while they were alive.

They have been unable to forget their living days." When fought and defeated, they end their life by saying "R-regrettable, although my rival you were spectacular. In Majora's Mask, a man said "They are ghosts, merely shells that are empty on the inside. It's known they were enemies of the Garo, a race of Ninja-like people who spied on Ikana. It is unknown whether Igos was a title (like king) or just his name. The last king of Ikana was Igos Du Ikana. And the man who is at the entrance says "Ikana hill beyond here is a place where spirits with troubles and lingering regrets wander." There is a graveyard, a castle, a well and a tower there. An intesting thing about it is that in Japanese, "Ikan" means "regret". In the The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Ikana is a place to the East and is shrouded in mystery.
